Everyone is different! Children notice that at a very early age. They usually think they are the "different" one. Having this story read to them and explained by a loving, caring adult opens up young minds to the fact that differences exist and are just fine. Children need to be loved but also need to have someone or something to love. This story fills those needs. Immersing themselves with these characters and the feelings they express will allow young minds to flourish in real world situations. Grandpa Earl was born in a farmhouse with no running water or electricity. He attended a one-room school where all eight grades were seated in that same room. In the ensuing 90 plus years; he has lived life! Set foot in 5 continents, enjoyed the sights and sounds of numerous towns and countries around the world. He has seen small children begging for handouts in war torn Korea. And has seen other young children fighting to earn money for survival by carrying tourists' baggage in Istanbul. Through his lifetime he has worked as a farmhand, laborer, salesman, clerk, business owner, manager, electronics technician and various volunteer positions. In the midst of it all, he spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force. Although in a military organization he had nothing to do with guns and ammunition. He is proud to say: "words are my weapons."
