Sincerely, Ivy Rose is a fictional journal/diary that tells of an emotionally disturbed young woman with a fragile grasp on reality.
The character Ivy Rose unknowingly reveals her mental decline through the pages of the only friend she has and trusts. This fictional young woman participates in emotional self-harm, self-loathing, and beyond. Ivy Rose disconnects from society and withdraws to a world she creates for herself.
These are issues that are not isolated to any one culture or walk of life, but can and have been experienced by young people of every path and lifestyle. I say young people only because the character in the story is in her early twenties, but no one is immune to life's ugliness. I hope to show that many people who suffer in these ways gravitate toward one another or as in the case of Ivy Rose, an inanimate object and build unhealthy relationships based on these distinct identities.
