Jerome, Arizona was a major mining town in Arizona and is now a major tourist town with a regular population of around five hundred, which surges to thousands in the tourist season. Visit ghosts, bars, hotels, churches, and sidewalks that only go up.The streets are filled with shops, bars, more shops, more bars, and jam packed restaurants that sometimes take a two hour wait to be seated, but the wait is worth the experience. While on the way, stop by Fort Verde in Camp Verde to see the parade field, buildings, and learn a little about General Crook. If staying overnight, make reservations early because Jerome become "The Destination Point" for many in Arizona and other states. Motorcycles? Yes, it seems to be a trip destination for Harley Davidson Motorcycles as well as other brands. All are welcome. Street parking is a "situation" as the sidewalks only lead uphill. Grin. Fort Verde is nearby and is a historic fort under the command of General Grant. It is worth a visit as you drive to or from Jerome.
