Four young boys of a Sioux village are now old enough to participate in the most exciting event of the season: the Buffalo Jump. Only one will be able to prove that he is worthy of wearing the sacred calf skin that is the key to a successful hunt. All he has to do is count all of the buffalo roaming the Great Plains.
Could you do it? Can you count a herd that is so big in an area so vast that they seem like dots on the horizon? Chankoowashtay, whose name means "good path", trusts in himself to figure out a way to do what many see as impossible.
