Margie and Will are 11 and 12 year-old neighbors in their suburban Washington, D.C. homes in Maryland. Fall provides opportunities for each to visit the other's grandparents in rural towns - Will's on Maryland's Eastern Shore and Margie's in mountainous Northwest Maryland. Their their seemingly endless curiosity leads them to discover closely held family secrets that threaten their friendship.
