Dr. Mary Scandrett Red Stilettos and a Diet Coke is a hands-on guide for educators and parents on how to improve our public school educational system in the age of Covid. Dr. Mary Scandrett was an educator for 30 years. She began her teaching career as a Special Education teacher at Belleville Township High School East at the age of 23 years old where the majority of her students were a foot taller than her. She then relocated to Oshkosh, WI where she taught English as a second language to the Hmong people of Laos. She then went on to receive her Doctorate in Education at St. Louis University. Mary, in her free time, would spend her days by the beach in sunny Florida or planting flowers everywhere, especially hibiscus and impatiens. She spent the better part of 20 years creating this book. It was her dream to make a difference and to improve the way the schools across America function. Although she has passed, Matthew, her son can only hope that her life lives on within the pages of this book. In loving memory, Mary A. Scandrett December 19, 1949 - October 1, 2021
