Jenny lives in a small village on the Cornish peninsula, near Cape Cornwall. In the first book, "Galloping Across a Cornish Summer" she longs for a pony and the chance to learn to ride. She meets Vanda and Sofia, two young women with complicated lives who are staying at Treloar Farm, up on the moors and are organising a pony club camp at the end of summer. The following year in "Pony Trekking Across Goonhilly" a new family arrives on the moor. This gives Jenny a chance to go north to a big horse show and enter a show jumping competition. Later in the summer, a group of them go pony trekking across Goonhilly Downs. But during this idyllic summer of ponies and show jumping there is a background of dark secrets and complicated dangerous situations.
